It is Thursday August 7th and we drove from our campground in the Portage Valley (just south of Girdwood) this morning after working with the Fujifilm tech support, guy, Ed. He was able to have me do enough things with my camera that he figured out only one setting needed to be changed, and "wah lah", I can take pictures again.
No rain today!!! Sun with clouds & the weather is still pleasantly cool. The section of driving along the Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet...rivaled our drive thru Banff for spectacular beauty. We look a 19 mile journey off The Glenn Highway, to go visit the tiny town of Hope. The drive is spectacular & the town is very historic gold mine era homes. I LOVED IT!!!! It's not far from Anchorage, so you could drive in to do your shopping if you lived there?????? I'll attach some pictures, so what you think.
We are staying in an RV park called River Terrace in Soldotna. this was recommended by Chuck and Betty Bailey from Johnstown, CO, who we met in Tok last Friday. He's the one who caught LOTS of salmon & shared three pieces of his smoked salmon with me. They recommended that I fish here. Tim, the man who runs the office told me when I got here that the run of Greys isn't very strong, yet. So, tomorrow will will venture own the peninsula to Homer, to fish & enjoy the scenery!!!
Thanx to Ed the tech man...here are some pictures of today's travels.

Hooray! You're back! I thought you'd retired the blog to spend more time having fun. So glad you didn't! I'd like a Musk Ox for a souvenir if you can find a way to bring one home. The pictures are wonderful!
Heidi
I'll bet a Musk Ox would love your yard!!! I'm not sure if I can get one in the motor home with Gracey and Red Fred. You should (will) see all the pictures that I have!!!
